The Laughs Post
Mood:  silly

It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month . which we know today as the honeymoon.

Hopefully, and I mean hopefully, someone else will put a note in here to add to these post I have here,,, maybe give a short staement of how they seen our parents life over the years, or even just a sentence of something they remember that would be great to share with everyone...

- Shortly after they were married in 1958, their house burned down and lost all, except their family and friends

- Our mother work at Riff's Department Store on main street, even before she was married till the late 1970's for a wopping wage

- A total of 7 of the best looking kids in Windsor were born by 1971 to them in a two room house, at which point they moved into their second house, a three bedroom home, dad cut his own lumber and built it while shaking to alot of Elvis Presley, Marty Robbins, and Charlie Pride which were the top 10 for them

- Our father was working for Dawes Mechanical as Plumber/Pipefitter

- 1979 the family moved to British Columbia and worked in the copper mines for a couple years and moved back to Nfld again after their fortunes were made

- built another new home on Forest Road in GF/Windsor

- He went back to work for Dawes Mecanical

- at this point, most kids now have moved on

- During the late 1980's, dad gave up Dawes Mechanical and opened his own shop for several years, The Plumbing Shop on Main Street

- at this time in their life, the grandchildren started arriving

- When Hibernia started up, our father worked at the BullArm site for several years

- He also worked up in artic circle for several years on and off, in between the Hibernia work

- in 1999, they built another new home for the third time in the same town

- And as of today, they have their latest home up for sale and are living the retired life together and doing some travelling, hoping their health and good fortune holds...

First things first
Mood:  chillin'
Our parents, John & Genevieve were married July 19th 1958, and now will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on July 19th 2008,
This is their engagement photo

There seems to be alot of hugging going on...

If someone has an old picture of them to show and talk about, please make use of it here,

or maybe there is a topic you would like listed on it's own post so we could all discuss it, joke about it or whatever,

Or just what kind of celebration will happen and where, as we certainly know when...

Pictures in your post
Mood:  a-ok
Ok, here is our posting site, this is my second posting page, as the other would not allow pictures in with your post, I feel it is more effective having pics with the post,,,

one restriction is you need to be a member of tripod(my webhost) to include a picture,,, so if you wish to have a post here with a picture, just email it to me and I will creat a post for you with the picture, best I can do
